I AM A TRUE CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVE - WHICH MEANS I WILL STRIVE FOR SMALL GOVERNMENT, MINIMAL TAXATION AND MINIMAL GOVERNMENT INTRUSION ON YOUR DAILY LIFE.

I AM AN OPEN SUPPORTER OF THE RIGHT TO LIFE. I KNOW LIFE BEGINS AT CONCEPTION AND IT IS SACRED FROM CONCEPTION TO THE NATURAL END OF LIFE.

I HAVE AN UNCOMPROMISING COMMITMENT TO THE 2ND AMENDMENT AND I KNOW IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HUNTING. IT IS FOR DEFENSE OF SELF, DEFENSE OF COUNTRY AND IF

NECESSARY, TO REMOVE A TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT.

AS A CONSERVATIVE, I KNOW THERE ARE ONLY TWO SEXES AND THAT FACT CANNOT BE CHANGED REGARDLESS OF MEDICAL INTERVENTION.

I HAVE SERVED MY COUNTRY AND MY COUNTY FOR MOST OF MY ADULT LIFE.

4 YEARS IN THE COAST GUARD RESERVES WITH 2 DEPLOYMENTS TO THE MIDDLE EAST

I HAVE SPECIFIC COMMUNITY PROTECTION TRAINING THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY AS THE COUNTY’S TERRORISM LIAISON OFFICER WHILE ASSIGNED TO THE DETECTIVE SECTION AT THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE. THIS TRAINING WAS NOT JUST APPLICABLE TO TERRORIST ATTACKS BUT ALSO TO DISASTERS SUCH AS TRAIN WRECKS, CHEMICALS SPILLS, WEATHER EVENTS AND OTHER NATURAL EVENTS. AS A NEW COMMISSIONER, I WOULD BRING EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING IN DEALING WITH AND PREPARING FOR EMERGENCIES BOTH NATURAL AND MANMADE. I HAVE BEEN HELPING INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS, BUSINESSES, CHURCHES, SCHOOLS AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TO PREPARE FOR WORST CASE SCENARIOS FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS. WITH THIS TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE, I KNOW WHAT FIRST RESPONDERS NEED TO DO THEIR JOBS. I FEEL THIS EXPERIENCE WOULD BENEFIT SHELBY COUNTY IN LIGHT OF WORLD AND NATIONAL EVENTS.

Other Experience and Commitment to Shelby County

I have been purchasing weapons, ammunition and tactical gear for the county for the past 5 years. Operating within a given budget and searching for ways to make your tax dollars go the farthest is something I have been doing.

I have been part of a committee consisting of local police and fire along with the Shelby County EMA to train and equip first responders in Rescue Task Force operations for responding to Active Shooter Incidents.

I have written the training curriculum for the Armed Teacher and Church Security Programs for armed response to active threat events and give continued instruction in both programs. As an example of my dedication to the county and saving taxpayer dollars, I have been paying for most of my continuing training and associated cost required to maintain my instructor certifications out of my pocket. This has freed up training funds to send other deputies to advanced training and instructor courses.

What makes me a good addition to the office of the County Commissioners

As a law enforcement officer, I have a unique bank of experiences to draw from. As a deputy, it has been imperative that I am a fast learner; and I have actually had to adapt and overcome situations that have been matters of life and death.

If elected as your County Commissioner, I will bring unique perspective, skills and experience to complement and balance decision making with the other two commissioners.
